Introduction

Reports provide a historical view of various metrics that are key to managing infrastructure efficiently. OpsRamp reports cater to a wide audience from NOC engineers to IT executives who want to ensure efficient management of their infrastructure.

Core Concepts

Custom Report

The Custom Reports feature enables you to design your own reports with customized content:

  • Design spreadsheet style reports for Inventory, Inventory breakdown and Metrics

  • Schedule reports to run at specific times

  • Share reports with other users in the organization

  • Organize reports easily within a folder

Create New Custom Report

To create a custom report,

  1. Login to OpsRamp.

  2. Click All Clients and select the client.

  3. On the drop-down menu, click Reports.

  4. Create a folder in which you need the reports to be stored.

  5. To create a folder, in Custom panel, click + button to Add Folder and provide a name to the folder.

The newly created folder will be placed inside the default folder Created by me.

Now, to compose a report select the folder and then click New.

Field Name

Description

Name

Provide a name for the report.

Folder

Select the folder in which the report needs to be stored.

Report Type

Select OnDemand Only or OnDemand and On Recurring Schedule.

If OnDemand and On Recurring Schedule is selected then provide the frequency.

Sections

You can create five sections for the report, this is the section name of the current report.

Name

Provide the section name. This field is mandatory before saving the report.

Report On

Select the report type – Inventory, Inventory breakdown, and Metrics.

  1. Inventory

    • Select the client.

    • Filter for the rule.

    • Select attributes for the report. Recommended 20 attributes for a report for best view.

  2. Inventory breakdown

    • Select the client.

    • Filter for the rule.

    • Breakdown column – On what parameter the report should be based on.

    • Visualization – Select the Visual chart type Table, Column, Bar Chart or Pie Chart.

  3. Metrics

    • Select the client.

    • Resource type – select from the device group, device type, site, and synthetics.

    • Report On – Monitoring templates

      • Templates

      • Monitors

      • Metrics

    • Report On – Individual monitors

      • Monitors

      • Metrics

    • Select Duration

      • Can be selected from last 180 days. or

      • Select any date range.
